SM Foundation, Inc. is the corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group of Companies. Through SM Foundation, the SM Group of Companies has been able to help the less fortunate in the communities it serves by supporting their needs in EDUCATION through college and technical-vocational scholarship programs and donation of public school buildings; HEALTH through medical missions and construction of wellness and health centers; COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT through various livelihood trainings, greening projects, spiritual development and immediate disaster response/initiatives; and, CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND FOR PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS like those with disabilities, children, nursing mothers, the elderly, and the overseas Filipino workers, among others.
Education
SM Foundation established the SM College Scholarship Program in 1993 to support bright, underprivileged public high school students in securing higher education. It also offers short courses under its Technical-Vocational Scholarship Program and donates school buildings through the SM Foundation School Building Program.
Health
With the goal of creating sustainable communities, SM Foundation conducts health and wellness programs to the marginalized members of society. Through its medical missions and its Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program, SM Foundation provides free, comprehensive, accessible and quality medical and dental care to target beneficiaries nationwide.
Farmers' Training
SM Foundation continues to improve lives and uplift communities through various development programs. Through the Farmers' Training Program (Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan) SM Foundation enables farmers to become self-sufficient by equipping them with knowledge on production of high-value crops for a sustainable livelihood.
SM Cares
SM Cares is geared towards creating sustainable, social and environmentally-conscious business operations. It strives to create a mall for all ' a corporate citizen that cares for all members of society and those of future generations.
Brief History
The SM Foundation, Inc. was founded by Henry Sy, Sr. and Felicidad T. Sy in 1983 with the aim to help the less fortunate in the communities it serves. Since its beginnings, the Foundation has continued to improve life and provide more opportunities for positive change in urban and rural communities nationwide.
